Are you looking for a place to volunteer some of your time, energy and talent? Lunches of Love has a rewarding job for you. The best way to sign up as a volunteer is to click here. You won't regret it! During the school year, Lunches of Love-Weekend Edition operates on a weekly schedule.
We believe there is more to life in a church than worship and service. We believe that Christian education is vital to a fully developing believer. Because of this belief, we offer many different opportunities for people to grow in their faith.
We have a full offering of Sunday School classes for everyone from pre-school to older adults. We have a professionally staffed nursery for the littlest children during the Sunday School hour. The classes meet every Sunday at 9:40 am.
We also offer different study opportunities for adults and youth during the year.
What is in it for me?
Sunday School Classes are a great way to help you connect: to God’s Word, to other believers, and to a caring community. Lessons and discussions in class will help you develop a growing relationship with Jesus.
What is offered?
Five Adult Classes meet every week. Classes last one hour starting at 9:40 am. Each class selects its own study materials and topics and open discussion is encouraged.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Most classes take an offering, which is used for class needs. Offerings also support other church ministries.
How do I begin?
There are no special requirements for membership in any of the classes. Guests are welcome every Sunday in every class. Just drop in and visit any Sunday morning, or call the church office at 281-342-3333 during the week and ask for the phone number of any of the teachers. Then call the teacher to ask questions and plan a Sunday to visit the class.
What about my children?
Children’s Sunday School meets at the same hour as adult classes with caring, dedicated teachers who are members of our church who have taken Safe Sanctuary training for the protection of the children. These are fun and enlightening classes for children with basic Bible stories and teachings.
Are you looking for a place to meet other parents, share experiences about raising kids, serve others, make new friends, and have a little fun? Young Families is the group for you!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Am I a “Young Family”?
The group consists of parents of all ages – couples and single parents, members and non-members of the church - who have one or more children newborn through high school age.
When do you meet?
Young Families meet every Sunday at 9:40 a.m. for Sunday School in the church's fellowship hall.
What do you do?
We have a “family-style” breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on the first Sunday of each month where the kids and adults eat together in the Fellowship Hall. Then the kids go to their Sunday School classrooms or to the nursery where they are divided by age and participate in age appropriate activities under the loving care of our teachers and nursery staff. The nursery is free and provided by the church. The adults participate in a variety of activities during this time away from the kids. Activities include lessons, guest speakers, social activities, and mission projects.
What should we do if we want to come to a Young Families meeting?
We would love for you to join us at our next gathering! Contact Elizabeth Fairfield at 281-342-3333 or firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the Young Families email list. Before each meeting, an email is sent out giving you all the information you need. We ask each family to RSVP before each meeting so that we can prepare enough food and have the correct number of nursery staff.
